Hi, I'm Emma Rothwell.
I am a photographer born in Torpoint, Cornwall. Which is a beautiful destination, with hidden beauty locations in the surrounding areas. I started my professional photography journey in 2019, and its been a lot of learning, researching & practice! This passion never leaves my mind, all I think about is photography, scanning for the perfect location, thinking of creativity and forever finding every excuse to get the camera out. Somehow I can find beauty everywhere in everything and I like to see it as the most positive blessing, its my passion that's ingrained in me.
It is a possibility the devotion stems further back, the seed of photography planting.. I found a new joy for photos as I started to move around... having pictures dominating one of my walls in all the homes I've lived in, I adore how each one tells a story and brings back treasured memories. This is what I strive to do for others, no matter what it is, a birthday, wedding, christening or just family time or a time of difficulties, a reminder of the storm passing. I am open to anything.
So where have I been and where am I now? I've had the incredible opportunity to live up North (2015-2017), and Cyprus (2017-2019) so far. The small but beautiful island is where I invested in my first camera and became passionate about capturing images and how lucky are we to of been in Cyprus again (2021-2024) this is where my skills exploded thanks to 100+ families that trusted in my passion. I also found a love for Lifestyle New-born sessions, which I found intimate, precious and beautiful, in the comfort of your own home full of love and new beginnings. Feeding naturally, getting the whole family involved including the four legged family members and getting all those fine teeny details that change so rapidly. I had the pleasure in 2023 to do a few weddings and that definitely sparked a desire to document such an important day that will be cherished for generations. Now I am in Newquay Cornwall (2024) and looking to build a portfolio here doing sessions such as families, lifestyle new-born and weddings. Wish me luck!
What little miracles do I have pushing me to love what I do and learn all that I can? My 2 children. They light up my life. They are my drive every day. They will for a life time be my everything.
Other than photography, I enjoy romantic novels, drawing, spending time with the ones I hold dear and of course I get a wonderful feeling in the presence of beautiful places, which I count myself lucky having had the opportunity to live in Cyprus and Cornwall where there is many. So family walks with Rex and Mikey is the all time favourite thing to do and the camera always follows.
